FBS cam switch: the railway professional
The FBS cam switch is a special edition of the VNS0 joystick. It is a cam switch developed for travel and braking operations used in trams and many other railway vehicles. It has been field-tested over many decades and has shown an impressively long service life and high reliability.
In addition to its modular ergonomic design, the FBS switch is resistant to ozone and UV radiation. It therefor can withstand most harsh evironmental conditions. A deadman function is provided with various types and shapes of handles. The deadman function itself is obtained by either mechanical-electrical means or by capacitive sensors. Evaluating electronics are available as well.
Possible switch versions vary from simple step switches to potentiometer switches to switches with encoders.
