Lilaas control levers can also be used to simultaniously control multiple propulsion machines. The units are small, robust, reliable and suitable for every kind of vessel. Special Lilaas interface units transfer the output from the levers to a PWM output for the control of gears and valves.

Reliable Thruster Control

Worldwide complex systems such as diesel-electric, gas-electric and other kind of hybrid propulsion are controlled with Lilaas technology. A good thruster control system provides the operator with a clear picture of the propulsors and thrusters in use at the time. Magnitude and direction of thrust are shown pictorially and numerically. The systems are designed to give the operator intuitive insight in and control of the ship’s propulsion.

Integration & automation of Lilaas thruster levers

Over the last decade Elma Components has become an expert in Lilaas thruster control levers for seagoing ships and other vessels. We play the role of advisor and distributor. We also are the Benelux partner that integrates Lilaas levers, displays and underlaying interface units into one complete control system:

  • Lilaas thruster levers can be equipped with drive motors for automatic synchronization in a multi-station set-up.
  • Elma offers custom-made panels and ceiling mounted indicators that display the feedback from the ship’s actuators.
  • In order to visualize the output from Lilaas control levers Elma Components offers customer-specific control panels, including built-in lever units, signal lamps, pushbuttons, indicators, buzzers and electronic dimmers.
  • Control panels can be connected to special Lilaas CAN-interface modules and/or PLC’s. This integration offers an electronic shaft control system (AESS). As part of Elma’s turn-key approach the system will be completely functional factory tested (with or without class and/or customer in attendance). If desired, the system can be installed and commissioned in situ by Elma commissioning engineers.
  • Maximizing the flexibility for on-board control and meeting the need for fixed control positions, Elma designs and builds class approved, radio remote control systems. These remote control systems integrate all control devices, including thruster control levers.
